About Us

Our blog name represents the power of books. It demonstrates how a girl can arm themselves with books and be able to defend themselves intellectually. We owe a special thanks to our dear friend, Alicia Walker, for making our blog edits.

Sarah

Hello!  My name is Sarah and I’m from Las Vegas, NV.  I’m a stay at home mom to three kids and two dogs.  I love Twilight, the color pink, funky socks, Coach purses and books!  Some of my favorite authors are; JR Ward, Cassandra Clare, Richelle Mead and Larissa Ione.  I love Young Adult books, Paranormal Romance & Dystopian.  I’ll finish a book even if I find it horrible and it’s not holding my attention. One of my favorite series is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. What I like about it is that everyone of the brothers has an imperfection so it doesn’t make him the perfect person. The one liners that JR Ward adds to the story are so great that I sometimes find myself laughing out loud at them. Another one of my favorite series is The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I can honestly say I have been a fan of these books back when it was just a trilogy. I can’t wait to see the movie and Jamie Campbell-Bower better do a damn good job playing Jace.

Lisa

Hey there! My name is Lisa and I’m from Wisconsin. I’m married and have one awesome son; I also work full-time as a social worker. I LOVE Twilight, writing, traveling, hats and reading. My favorite genres are Paranormal Romance, Young Adult, Horror and Dystopian. Some of my favorite authors are; Stephenie Meyer, P.C. And Kristen Cast, Stephen King and Charlaine Harris. I frequently will purchase a book because I love the cover. One of my favorite series is the House Of Night series. I love how that series pulled me right in within a few chapters of the first book. I found myself frequently shaking my head at some of Zoey’s decisions.  Another series that engulfed me was the Fallen series by Lauren Kate. I was overjoyed with the ending of the final book in the series, Rapture.

Amber
So a little about me…I’m Amber and I’m from sunny San Diego.  I’m a mom and wife.  I fell in love with reading in junior high; Gilbert Blythe and Anne Shirley from the Anne of Green Gables series got me hooked.  But college left little time for reading.

I love all things Twilight.  Twilight let me to meet Sarah and Lisa – with Comic Con and Twilight Tent City, we are now friends for life.

Twilight also rekindled my love of reading; which now borders on obsession.  I’m always reading something; whether it’s the latest release or Twilight fan fiction; there is always something to be read.  I have several hundred ebooks on my never ending TBR.

Favorite authors include Stephenie Meyer, Cassandra Clare, J.R. Ward, Richelle Mead, Colleen Hoover, Christina Lauren, Alice Clayton…the list goes on and on.

Hiya, I am Christina. Serial killer of plants and laptops. I am a geek-tastic California gamer girl, who has way too many interests and too little time to indulge them

Christina (and Lisa)

all, but that doesn’t stop me from trying! I am a reader, a writer, a paddle boarder, a pool player and all-around fun girl, although I can be a bit of an introvert. I work as a production coordinator for a company that prints labels for wines, pharmaceuticals and the like to pay the bills (my husband’s income doesn’t hurt either). I am also the proud owner of three wonderful fur babies that are the lights of my life.

I truly believe I was born with a book in my hand. The minute I started, I just couldn’t stop. My first love genre wise is fantasy, but I read everything from paranormal romance to forensic investigation books and everything in-between. I also enjoy comic books and graphic novels. Sadly, I am not a Twilight fan, but I don’t begrudge the people who are.

Some of my favorites include Patricia Briggs, Robin Hobb, Seanan McGuire, Darynda Jones, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Estep, Mercedes Lackey, George RR Martin, Brandon Sanderson, Kim Harrison, Jane Austen (yeah, had to throw that one in), Patrick Rothfuss, Michael J. Sullivan and the list could go on and on.
