Amber’s 2018 Top Reads
For the past several years, I’ve participated in the Goodreads Reading Challenge. My goal this year was to read 100 or more books. I succeeded by finishing 108 books this year. You can check out my individual reading list here and while your visiting Goodreads, sign up for the 2019 Reading Challenge.
As you can probably imagine, with 108 book read, I had several that were clear favorites (and even a few that we not so much ;-). So Here is my list, in no particular order, of my favorite reads of 2018!
The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen
Sarina Bowen is a favorite author of mine. In fact, I read 7 of her books this year alone. While I love her True North and Brooklyn Bruisers series, my favorite of the year was this standalone young adult title The Accidentals.
One Small Thing by Erin Watt
The writing duo of Elle Kennedy and Jen Fredricks gave us this lovely story. There was just something about this one that stuck with me. It’s not an unbelievably happy story, but it does end with a happy ending.
Love Online by Penelope Ward
One of my favorite authors, I devour everything that Penelope Ward writes. This year I read 4 books by Penelope (and her writing partner Vi Keeland). This one of hers was my favorite.
Getting Schooled by Emma Chase
When I’m looking for a lighthearted read, I look no further than Emma Chase. This one in particular was released first as an Audible original, so I listened to it rather than read it. Bonus, it was read by my favorite narrator…win!
Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely
This was an audiobook for me, and I think that the narration just added to my love of the story. I love audiobooks; I typically have one I’m listening to during my commute. And a good narrator can make a good story great; which is the case with this story.
All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover
It’s Colleen Hoover – no further explanation is necessary.
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
There is just something about this story. It’s a slow burn + it’s a sports romance. It was perfect.
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren
By far, this story had the best character development and interaction. It was a truly funny, romantic read.
So, here is my list. I could have included many more…but I had to draw the line somewhere. What was your favorite read, or reads of 2018?
