New Years marks the end of my first year as a full time contributor to Girls with Books; and I’ve had a blast.  I love any excuse I can have to immerse myself in a book.  And writing for the Blog is by far the best excuse I have.

Each year, Goodreads encourages it’s users to participate in the annual reading challenge.  2016 was the 4th year that I’ve participated.  Each year I’ve had a modest goal and have managed to succeed in reaching it.  2016’s goal was to read 100 books – my most ambitious goal to date.  And I far exceeded my goal – by reading 172 books!  You can have a peek at my reading 2016 challenge here.

Going thru the list of books read, I’ve compiled my FAVORITE BOOKS of 2016!  See how many of my favorites you’ve perhaps read.  (These are in no particular order either)

Leisa Rayven’s Wicked Heart is the conclusion to the Starcrossed series.

A.L. Jackson’s 3rd book in the Bleeding Hearts series.  I also read book 4, Wait, this year and I’m looking forward to Ash’s story, in book 5, Stay, which is slated for this spring.

The writing duo of Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy gave us a taste of their foray into M/M writing with last year’s Him.  This year, readers were given an additional dosage of Jamie and Wes with Us.

Brittainy’s 3rd book in her Elements series is, in my opinion, her best work to date.

The writing duo of  Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have given us some great romantic comedies.  My favorite one thus far being Stuck-Up Suit.

I just couldn’t choose one from the True North series.  This entire series is fabulous, but they should be read in order.

The Queen, Colleen Hoover did it again in 2016 with a poignant story about an abusive relationship.  She can do no wrong in my opinion.

Kristen Callihan’s VIP series is very well written and quit humorous. The newest focuses on the band’s uptight manager Scotty.

Final series I’ve included into this year’s best is  T.M. Frazier’s King series.  This year I got acquainted with Bear, Rage and Preppy as the series continues on.  The next installment, Preppy part 2 will be out this spring as well.
