Author Bio: Christy Sloat is a Southern California native who now lives in New Jersey with her husband and two daughters.
She believes that reading is a passion and it should be embraced. If she is not reading or writing she is cooking or spending quality time with her children.
She believes in past lives and love that can last lifetimes. She is a huge Twilight and Harry Potter fan who watches the movies constantly.
Some of her favorite vacation spots are Maine, Massachusetts and California.
As Avery Snow settles into her life and relationships with those around her,
she fights to forget her past lives. Those of which she spent with Landon.
Landon still has no recollection of who she really is and it seems better that
way. Even though she still feels a draw to his soul, she chooses to ignore
it.
For now everything is fine. Her boyfriend, Dallas, has opened a new
restaurant. Her friends, Ianni and Kerri are settling into their lives as well.
But when news of a new Dark Guide is revealed, Avery is forced to start thinking
about the life she truly leads. One that is very abnormal. One she is desperate
to forget. This Dark Guide is determined to make Avery pay for the death of
someone she held dear.
Now Avery’s life went from seemingly perfect to
falling apart. What will be at stake now? Her life? Her love?
And who will be
there in the end to help her up off the ground? Even the strongest love can
unravel. Will Avery be able to hold it all together, or will she just let
go?
Brylee Branson begrudgingly made
the excruciating move with her family from the warm sandy beaches of California
to small town living in New Jersey. As if she wasn’t miserable enough, they’ve
moved into a creepy old house that everyone in the area claims is haunted.
Brylee dismisses the idea of ghosts and hauntings, until she begins to see and
hear things that can’t be explained…
Brylee has no choice but to seek the
help of new friends to unlock the secrets of this place she now calls home. But
some secrets should never be revealed. Can the teens find a way to release the
spirits imprisoned within the walls? Or will the curse claim them, too?
When is The Crimson Key due out?
This summer. I am shooting for August
Who inspires you to write?
My kids do. My grandmother gave me the push years ago. I write now for my little girls so that they know anything can be achieved with a little hard work and determination.
If you could interview any author who would it be?
Right now I am crushing hard on Margaret Stohl. She co-writes the Beautiful Creatures books. I met her in SC last year and she was so sweet. I just want to sit and have lunch with her!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I crochet, read, watch movies on the couch with my hubby. I try to travel every year as well.
Favorite place to travel?
Last year I went to WA and had so much fun out there. I want to go back so bad. I literally think about it everyday. That’s normal right?
What book are you reading now?
Currently reading ‘Blood Promise- Vampire Academy’
I see you are a Harry Potter fan. What would your patronus be?
Oh I love this question! I also love that you noticed that! My patronus would be a whale. Can you imagine this huge whale patronus coming at you? Awesome.
I also know you are a Twi-Hard. What would your vampire power be?
My Vamp super power would be to read minds like my boyfriend. You know my boyfriend right? Edward? Yeah he is my boyfriend 🙂 Shh don’t tell Bella.
Anything else we should know about you?
I may love to write but reading is my first love. I read every night to my kids and then I take time to myself to read. I think its very important to read and I try to fit it in. I am obsessed with Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. No joke! And I love to laugh. That’s it, I think…
Christy Sloat was nice enough to giveaway some ebooks! Enter to have a chance to win either a copy of The Many Lives of Avery Snow, a copy of Ianni or a copy of The Brown House. There will be NINE WINNERS!
My favorite part of the interview was when asked what book you are currently reading and you mentioned the vampire academy book. I read those recently and they were great! Its so great to see an author reading books that I have read or want to read because it says something about the author.
I love all sorts of books! I probably read all the same books as you. Seriously I have a book obsession and I love it!!
Love your answer to which patronus. I think I would run away screamign if I saw a whale patronus coming towards me.
