Author Bio.: C.C. Hunter grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she’s still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, spending time with her family, or is shooting things-with a camera, not a gun.
C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels for Grand Central. Found out more about her suspense romance novels here.

Interview with C.C. Hunter
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
Well, I guess you could say I grew up preparing to be a writer. You see in my family, we were encouraged to tell tall tales, and if that involved a white lie or two to many the story better, then go for it! So, I grew up telling stories, but I didn’t know I wanted to actually be a writer until I was in my early twenties. My husband asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him that I wanted to be a writer.
What inspired you to write your first Young Adult book?
I’d been writing romances and my editor at St. Martins told me I should write YA. I’ve got to tell you the thought of writing in a new genre scared the beegeezus out of me. But then she said “Paranormal camp.” That was it! That’s all my imagination needed to get going—and Shadow Falls Camp was born.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
I think it is really difficult to say goodbye to my characters. I had such a hard time finishing Chosen at Nightfall. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Kylie and her friends. I’d gotten to know them and love them. So, I wrote Della’s novella Saved at Sunrise. I felt it was a story I had to get out of my head. My agent thought I was crazy and reminded me I was supposed to be working on something else. Then she read it, and she loved it. As a result, I am now working on writing an entire new series from Della’s point of view. So, I guess I haven’t totally said goodbye to everyone at Shadow Falls. But I know that day will come at some point, and I also know I’ll be a basket case.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Hmmm…as I said, I’m working on Della’s story. Since she has trouble expressing her feelings, finally being in her head is answering a lot of questions. I understand her much better now, and I realize she has so much to tell. She is one vamp with a whole lot of attitude! And Steve, well let me just say, Della thinks he is a heck of a lot hotter than she lets on.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
A big thank you for being so supportive! I have the best readers in the world. They show up at my signings, buy my books, and have made my dream of being a writer back in my twenties–when I didn’t even have a clue of where to start–into a reality. I really can’t say thank you enough.

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, but it soon becomes clear that the kids at Shadow Falls are far from ordinary. They’re supernatural—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world. Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason…if she can only figure out why, and what her burgeoning powers mean.
As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half Fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart. As Kylie struggles to make sense of her feelings and her new abilities, the dark side of the supernatural world emerges and makes life a whole lot harder. An evil enemy lurking in the shadows is about to threaten everything she holds dear…and bring her closer to her destiny.
