Author Spotlight/Interview: J. Sterling

I got fired from my last job. It’s true. I know you’re sitting there thinking “Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you???” And i’d love to give you a good reason, but the truth is- being this awesome is clearly very scary to other less awesome people.

So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working for my ass off for someone who doesn’t really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul feels more satisfied.
My heart, more full.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.
I appreciate it more than you know. 🙂

 Interview with J. Sterling

What was your inspiration for Seeing Stars?
DRAKE!
DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!  Did I say that
loud enough??? LOL

I love the new covers, what made you to decide to change
them?
As much as I loved the original covers, I realized that they didn’t
really convey to a potential reader what the story was about. They didn’t give
off a “romance” vibe. Sometimes it’s hard to make your covers objectively
because you know every little piece of the story, so they make sense to you as
the author. But they have to APPEAL to someone who knows nothing about the
story.

What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
Honestly? The ability to be there for my
son.  I don’t have to worry anymore about
asking a big boss for time off to go to his game, or missing them altogether.
It’s been such a blessing to be able to do the things I have been able to with
and for him.

Who inspired you to write?
Who?  No one. Myself. It was something I wanted to
do, so I did it.
J

Are there any situations in any of your books you regret?
Not at all.
I haven’t written anything that I wished I could take out or
change.

What’s the oddest thing you had to research for your
writing?
  Hmmm, divorce laws in Alabama.
Lol  I literally research
EVERYTHING!  From the tiniest detail on a
car, to towns located where my fictional brain wants to place them on a map.  It might not be odd, but it’s time consuming.

What book are you currently
reading?

I’m not reading right now
because I am hard at work trying to write my next release!

Can you share with us what you’re
currently working on right now?

I’m
working on another New Adult, College age romance story. It feels Jack
Carter-esque without being exactly the same. I’m really enjoying getting to
know the characters, but it’s slowwwwwwwww going.

Is there anything else we should
know about you
?

I love when you tell
people to read my stuff!  And when you
send me emails and correspond with me. I’m super thankful and appreciative for
everything.
J

Walker Rhodes is a hot singing sensation who never settles down, spends too much money gambling and gets in trouble on the daily- at least if you believe all the tabloids.

Madison Myers is a hard working talent agent assistant thrust into the spotlight one day after Walker pulls her on stage during one of his concerts. She tries to stay away from him, but he keeps chasing her. She is strong in her resolve and he is relentless in his pursuit. The question is… WHY?!?!

Tabloid Headline Reads: Walker Rhodes pulls woman on stage during LA concert and serenades her with stars in his eyes and we watched as the sparks flew! But just who is this mystery woman who has stolen Walker’s heart? And will she be the one to finally tie down our favorite womanizing gambler?

Our readers poll:
80% say no way!
The other 20% wish they were her!

An actress since she was fourteen years old, Paige Lockwood finds herself craving a little normalcy after a scandal rocks her otherwise predictable world. With everyone in her life attempting to control her, she takes matters into her own hands and leaves town without so much as a plan or a destination.

But the destination finds her as car trouble forces Paige to settle down in a small Southern town as she waits for repairs. There she meets the handsome, albeit standoffish, Tatum Montgomery, and both of their lives are forever altered as they learn that sometimes when you aren’t looking for love, it finds you anyway.

The real question is: Can you hold on to it when you’re from two completely different worlds?
