#BEA16 and Book Con Fun

Posted May 19, 2016 by girlswit in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

I was very excited that Book Expo America was so close to home this year. It’s been a few years since I’ve attended and couldn’t pass it up this year since it was in Chicago.

I had such a wonderful time. I got to meet some awesome awesome authors , fellow bloggers and got loads of free books.

The first day I went to the Blogger Conference. Hanging out with fellow bloggers is always awesome. I got some awesome ideas for our blog’s future and some other tips of the trade. And yes, books.

Saturday I went to Book Con. This was the first time I have attended this event. It was wild. There was so many people and when they let us in it felt like the Hunger Games. The experience was awesome though.

One of the best things about attending any kind of book event is meeting people. I had met some of most awesome fellow bloggers while at BEA. Please check out their sites: One Book Two, Iceybooks, Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog, Feed Your Fiction Addiction,  125 Pages, and Book Bumblings. I hope I didn’t miss any.

Check out the photos below from my time at BEA and Book Con.

Some of the authors I had the opportunity to meet. The lower middle picture is of Maggie Stiefvater and myself. I was extremely nervous meeting her (even though I’ve met her several times in the past)  so I didn’t look over at her assistant when she was taking the picture.
I love seeing the book banners.

More book banners.

And even more book banners.

Penguin Teen had several tables set up where we were able to take pictures.

This collage is of some of the awesome signs they had out during Book Con, the bags of books I got, and some of my favorite items. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi, the poster of Tales of the Peculiar, the preview of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the Lady Midnight lanyard.

Keep an eye on our blog. I will be putting together a BEA/Book Con giveaway as soon as I can get into my office to sort through the books.
