When I first read Mockingjay I was so excited about it since I had to wait for it’s release and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I stayed up all night to finish it because I had to know how this would all end for Katniss. But once I got to a certain point in the book I kept waiting for this big wonderful thing to happen. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Then I only had 15 pages left and I knew at that moment the big wonderful thing I was waiting for wasn’t coming. I was very sad and disappointed on how this story was going to end and be left.
As much as I loved the books and was excited to hear about them being made into movies I was not looking forward to seeing Mockingjay on the big screen. I didn’t want to relive the disappointment again.
I didn’t go see it on the first day as I do with other movies I must see. It was almost a week later.
Overall I thought it was done wonderfully. I loved how the effects were done. I loved that Effie was there and her fashion accessorizing was in full bloom even living underground. I enjoyed watching Katniss grow in this film. I could do without Gale, I’m not a fan of him. Peeta in the interviews was done very well! Also I loved Cinna’s last touch to her Mockingjay outfit.
I’m looking forward to the last film, which comes out on my Birthday next year. I just hope it doesn’t leave me disappointed like how the book in the parts it needs to cover for the last film.
