I know that many people don’t like the idea of an e-reader because it’s not like holding a real book. I LOVE my Kindle Fire. That’s where I read most of my books. Don’t get me wrong I love reading an actual book but I tend to go to my kindle more for reading now a days. I had a different e-reader before I got my Kindle and I used it here and there. It wasn’t as user friendly as I would have liked it to be. (Maybe because I want an easy to work device for dummies like me?) So the hubby got me the Kindle last year for my birthday. I was so excited about it! I had to buy a book pretty much the second I knew what I was doing with it. I love getting a book instantly without leaving my house while I’m still in my pajamas sitting at my kitchen table.
I’m one if I’m almost done with the book I’ll stay up to read it. But the hubby wants me to come to bed so the Kindle comes also. He complains that it’s too bright. Well, you wanted me to come to bed and I wasn’t done reading so I’m not sure what you want me to do in this situation we are find ourselves in. I mean I could be reading an actual book with all the lights on in the room for me to see.
|Okay so sometimes he is on his iPad while I’m reading but not often at all.|
I realize sometimes having an e-reader isn’t convenient. Like on an airplane when you need to turn it off before take off and before you land. I just lost 20 minutes of reading. So, now I’m forced to read the stuff in the pocket of my seat or worse talk to the person next to me. This is one down fall of having an e-reader on the plane. But one good thing about traveling with my Kindle is, if I’m almost done with a book, I have another one right there waiting for me to start so I’m not traveling with more than one book with me. Seriously that’s not fun at all. Also if you are looking for a certain passage in the book, it’s not easy to find on the ebook. So, if I really liked that part I make sure I read it again before moving on because I’ll never find it again later.
|Would you rather have all those book on one light weight reader or seriously hurt your back carrying those around the airport? I vote for the reader.|
I also have the Kindle app on my phone and it syncs with my Kindle Fire so I can read where I left off, if I don’t have my Kindle with me. Which is really nice for when I’m standing in line at the grocery store waiting for my turn.
I also love all the free or discounted books you can find on Amazon. I’ve gotten some pretty great books for free on there, that I may have never read if I saw the book in a store. The ebooks also are cheaper to buy on there rather than the actual book version. I was recently introduced to the library’s e-media center on line. I’ve actually read a lot of ebooks from there since I was shown how to do it. I try to only get the books that would have been on my never ending wish list. I’m really addicted to getting books from there right now. I get really excited when I’m on the waiting list for a book and I see my number getting lower and lower. What bites is when I have several hit at once for my turn. That is when I become a maniac to read them all before my time expires for them.
My Kindle is on item I don’t think I could live without. I love it way too much. So, if something every happens to it, you better believe I’ll be getting another one that day.
How many of you own an ereader? And if so which one do you have?
