This tight end is at the top of his game.

He’s good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His—ahem—stats are perfect.

But I can’t fall for him.

He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there’s one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I’ve spent my entire life hating—my beloved school’s arch-rival?

This guy is their star player.

Amber’s Review:

This is exactly the type of book that I love to read. It’s a relatively simple story – girl and boy meet, girl and boy really like one another….until the girl realizes that he is a football player for the most hated school in her existence.

Kayla is the captain of the cheer squad at Ohio State. She has been raised to be faithful to Ohio State. And that means to shun and turn away from ANYTHING tied to Michigan State University. What Kayla doesn’t realize though is that the hot guy that she met at her friend’s wedding; the guy she had amazing chemistry with, is the quarterback from Michigan State.

Personally, I don’t follow college sports. Being from southern California, college sports just don’t have the draw and popularity as they do in other regions of the country. I don’t know too many people who are die-hards for their college sports teams. I recognize that there are such people; I just don’t know any myself. That said, it was interesting to read about the dynamic of this long, outstanding rivalry between Michigan and Ohio. And in this book, the Rivalry is a character of it’s own.

I loved the pacing of the story; it didn’t seemed rushed or to drag out. The characters were entertaining. I will say that I did, on occasion find Kayla and her reluctancy to embrace her relationship with Jay due solely to the rivalry somewhat annoying and I think that is because I don’t have any experience with die-hard fans.

All in all, this was a highly entertaining and lively story. It was a pleasure to read.

About the Author:

Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, is married with two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn’t be any happier.
