The dangerous duo of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have struck again…this time with the witty and fun Mister Moneybags.
First off, I must say that I love this team of authors. I think that I’ve read just about everything that the two have co-written and I’ve enjoyed each and everyone.
This time, we have Dexter “Dex” Truitt and Bianca George. They find themselves stuck in an elevator and this is where things get off on the wrong foot. Bianca has a preconceived notion of the infamous “Mister Moneybags” – her nickname for the recluse billionaire Dexter Truitt whom she is on her way to interview. Given that no one knows what Mr. Truitt looks like, hearing Bianca’s opinion of himself, Dex decides not to tell Bianca the truth but to lie to her about his identity and creates Jay on the spot. Of course, Jay and Bianca hit things off.
As you can guess, starting things off with a lie is not the best decision and eventually the truth is revealed; along with several other surprise that neither Dex or Bianca could have predicted.
As with the other titles co-written by Keeland and Ward, the characters are well developed and balanced. The conversations that take place between these two are down right hysterical at times. I believe that both Dex and Bianca are truly believable…they could easily be modeled after someone you knew.
Light and entertaining, this one is a lot of twists and turns and tons of fun.
